Welcome to the second year of the IRC Sussex Championships. Formally known as “The Sussex Regatta”. The Sussex Regatta was started as a way to improve the standard of yacht racing in and around Sussex by promoting better competition. Through its success, it has had now been recognised as a serious yacht racing event open to all yachts and crew. Increasingly the regatta has attracted entries from further field with up to 70 entries from near & far. The regatta is organized by the Sussex Combined Clubs (SCC) and has been running as an “inter-club collaboration” since 2005 but independently for many years before that. The event has been run by numerous yacht clubs in central Sussex including the Sussex Yacht Club in Shoreham, Brighton Marina Yacht Club, & the Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club in Eastbourne. The hosting club currently rotates between these three clubs and it is Brighton Marina Yacht Club’s honour to host the first ever IRC Sussex Championship from its brand new state of the art floating yacht club. We hope you will join us over the weekend of  10 – 11  June ’17 for what promises to be an amazing event with competitive racing and fantastic shore side frivolities for all the family.
